				hi all,
I have sat navo n my Blackberry and found it good - used it all over europe - never missed a beat, I only caught it out once in Kildare!
It was the navig8 software - but its expired now and I'm upgrading the BB, so whats the best one to get in Halfrauds, maplin or whereever.
Budget of 150 to 250.
Rgds,
Ollie.

				Hi Ollie,
I got a Garmin earlier this year and have found it very good although it doesn't always take you the most direct route. For example, it always suggests I drive an extra 500m before turning up the road to the house, despite the fact this means driving past a through road - which is shown on the map - that is much more direct. I'm not sure if it can be "programmed" to take main roads only - I would like this feature as some of the bog roads it sends me on a very rough!
Overall, though, I would have little hesitation in recommending a Garmin.

btw you haven't a hope in hell of getting a definitive answer to a question like that on this site

I had a Garmin Nuvi 250 and just bought a Garmin Nuvi 760.
Truly the biz. Reason why I got the 760 is purely because I had the money and love gadgets.
This one is full with them...
Best place to buy is

A friend bought a medion satnav (Aldi) a while ago and said it was useless, compared to the Garmin Nuvi 250 I had at that time.
You only get very simply routing, virtually no POIs (Points Of Interest), is not customisable (vehicles, voices, POIs, etc), no yearly map update. So it will only be ok for 1 year tops.
I highly recommend to spend a little extra money and buy one for the longer term otherwise you'll end up spending more over time and throwing that € 130 away.
I'd buy one of these:
Garmin Nuvi 250 (you can have mine for € 100):

Garmin Nuvi 310:

Garmin Nuvi 760 (that's what I have now and loving it):

				I have the
missus 2008. Its a fantastic piece of kit, its never wrong, always tells me before the junction when to turn etc etc. Only downside is the cost which can be a little prohibitive

You must have the newer version mine always tells me just after the turn and strangly we only ever seem to go where she wants not where i want to go.
