Was on the radio that there is 7 new speed camera vans in use by the gardi. They also said that they will post the likely enforcment zones that the vans and normal speed checks will be done on there website.
So here you go
http://www.garda.ie/sez/Speed_Enforcement_Zones.htm
Check it out and stay safe and points free out there.

Anyone want to declare their current points status??
I've got two, for doing 50kmh in a 40kmh zone, hardly one to brag about. It wasn't even in the mx5, I was driving a transit
Wouldn't be so bad if I had them for doing a decent speed

nil points here - stopped once for "driving too fast in the rain" on the maynooth bypass. When I explained that I was trying to get way from the stupid ass on my rear bumper (guess who) - he let me off with a warning

Hey Ollie, do the guys in the relevant "points department" actually write to let you know that your points have been erased or do you have to check with them yourself??

You have all failed to mention that the link is potentially very useful.

Sorry Ash, got side - tracked there.
When I brought up the map of my area there were two"markers" tagged as "T" an "F", I think.
are these the boundarys of the area targetted or what??
The site is indeed a good one for reference, but as they say themselves don't asume that these locations are the only place that they'll be operating the new Hi-Viz speed detection vehicles.
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE

I've put them all in to a single spreadsheet so you can sort them by road or county if you want.
You can download it here:
http://buggyman.powweb.com//colm/SEZ.xls
They've listed over 4700 km of road for these new vans.
Has anybody seen any pics of the vans, or have details on make, colour etc.?

listening to the news yesterday, they will be clearly marked as garda traffic corps vehicles, high visibility and all that although the representative being interviewed did say that the days of the Gardai hiding in the bushes with the radar gun are not gone away... So watch out and be safe!!

0 points here too (2 in the past.. 36 in a 30! Grrr)
You can ring the motor tax office (fairly sure it was them.. ) to check when they expire, they do send a letter out when they expire tho too.
