Bit of a rant - post office

Postby mx5ash » Tue, 11 Nov 2008 8:08 +0000

Last Thursday i got a note saying i had missed the postman delivering a package and he couldn't leave it as there was €44 customs charge due on it.
Ah well shit happens i thought, i'll get it sat morning and pay the money.
In i went 9am and was told that all the Parcels are locked in the safe friday night and as such i wouldn't be able to collect it.
Well pissed at this stage.
So today i finished work an hour early so i could get home before they close at 5.30.
Arrived at 5 and spent the next 30 minutes waiting whilst they tried to find the package.
With comments along the way off
"are you sure you didn't get it"
Me "would i be here waiting with the collection slip if i had?"

"maybe it is still in the van"
Me "what since Thursday?" (thinking to myself it must be well battered now if it is!!)

They did come out at one stage with some ss kick plates that had arrived for me. Not a great idea for them to give them to me as i could have easily used them as a weapon to kill one/all of them.

Anyway end result - they haven't a bloody clue where it is and they hope it is still in the van!!!!!
They asked me to ring tomorrow and they would let me know - i gave them my number and told them to ring me when they have news - not wasting my time or money chasing the idiots.
I then pointed out that i had to leave work early today and that i wouldn't be able to call back during the week before they closed to collect it and asked how was i supposed to pick it up?
They said not to worry, if/when they find it they would make it available for collection on saturday.
Why couldn't they just have done that in the first place!!!!! Rather than locking it in the not so bloody safe.

So f***king pissed off.

* rant over.

Easy now Ash. The guy that checks that bench might have been off yesterday.

Been there though, guy pretending to look for a parcel you can bloody see yourself through the hatch.

I wouldn't be so confident if I where you Ash, given their performance so far they could still loose it again!
