Hi all, Niall here from Mazda Ireland. I’ve met a few of you over the years and really love what you’re doing with the club. Now the real reason.... Mazda Motor Ireland are looking to source a Mark 1 MX-5 for a PR event to celebrate the 20th Anniversary. The car will be used in photo shoots & video footage so we would be willing to hire the suitable model Irish or UK spec (no bias against Eunos etc. but we need Irish specs! ). Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. If you think your car would meet the criteria contact Richard below Richard Molloy 087-2552215 or rmolloy@mazdaeur.com

In my opinion, we should not cooperate, what have they done for us? Just a thought!

I agree. I have only found rude and unhelpful service from Mazda Ireland and when I was forced to buy parts from them they were a rip-off and I could only get the parts when I used a chassis no. from a similar Irish reg'd car. The last time I made a parts enquiry they never called back that was 9 months ago. They should contact mx5 Parts for a lesson in customer service. Let them do something for the club first. Ger

Re: Mazda in Ireland Can't remember if I wrote this before but - If Niall is still reading: Imported my 'unwanted' Eunos last year, put it into the NCT and failed on a stuck electric window and old headlights. So, I brought my 'unwanted' Eunos to Mazda in Leopardstown and was promptly given a €900 plus price to fix. Fainted, recovered and left. www.ebay.ie plus mx5parts.co.uk later, I spent approx €100 and did both repairs myself (Gurlie and all Mazda!!!). So, now you want a picture of an Irish/Uk spec car and ignore the spongebob cars (square plates.....jap imports....copyright on that joke!!!)? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm val

As some of you guys i met at the Waterford run last year know my partner and I push a 08 Mazda6 and i also have a EUNOS ROADSTER.I love both cars for different reasons but we have not been really pleased with the main dealer services we have experienced so far as the parts and labour are really expensive and attitude not great but the car is fantastic. At the time i bought my eunos i was going to buy a Toyota Corolla Coupe as a restoration project but on pricing the parts the car required from a toyota main dealer i couldnt believe it so scraped the idea and bought the euni and well well parts really expensive and some not even available what a joke! Really lucky i learned about Mx5parts and the excellent parts and service they supply or the car wouldnt be what it is today. I hope you come across a clean UK spec MK1 but anyones i have ever seen have been badly abused and generally inferior to the Eunos.

Niall, There is a trend forming in resepct of replies here and the suggestion that your dealers "suck" when it comes to parts and sales/service can be verified by me too.
I met Gunners and his partner @ last years waterfrod run and admirded their new model mazda 6 and thought about maybe seeking a deal on one for the family car replacement.
I went into the mazda dealers in Tullamore one day shortly afterwords, had a chat with a sales guy, we spoke about a deal and he took my details,he eyeballed my trade in, and committed to comeback to me on a cost to change - and did he?
NO - Never, I rest my case.

Well my own car lately (last Sat) the switch for the radiator fan went. Popped into the local Mazda dealer on Tuesday, they didn't entertain me. On the spot rang Autolink Uk, had the part Friday morn in the post, fitted Friday evening. In these difficult times I was trying to keep the business local, but had to get the part in myself from abroad, only £25 I know, but would have preferred to have left it in local economy.
