I was out last night watching the meteor shower that is going on at the moment.
We spent a lot of time looking at cloulds but about 40% of the sky cleared for 15 minutes and we saw 10 shooting stars in that time. I'm sure it would have been awesome if we could have seen the whole sky or the clearing lasted a bit longer.
Last night was the peak but there should be a good bit of activity for the next few days (and maybe even some when we are in Donegal ) and this year should be one of the best viewing ops because the moon is only in the first quarter and not lighting up the sky (geeky bit over ).
The forecast for tonight is "currently" saying it should be clear in many parts of the country but not Galway . It's also not a school night so keep an eye on the sky and if it is clear, get out there. With the roof down the 5 becomes your deckchair .
