Was done for no tax on way to tax office today as a lot of ye know my turbo mx5 has been off the road for over a year and a half. I got a form signed in the Garda station saying that 2 weeks ago but today was the first day since then that I had the money and was off from work, I explained that to him and all he said was I was lucky he wasn't seizing the car and I would get a fine in the post in the next few days, what a joke Its not like I was avoiding paying tax for any length of time, I taxed it from when the form was signed, so sick of this place, if I get a fine in the post can I contest it since I've it now taxed from the start of the month, could I get points for it? Or can he still do me for not having it displayed?1990 Eunos Roadster 1.6: cusco coilovers, carbing front and rear strut braces, 1.8 brakes, performance engine and diff mounts, stage 2 cerametalic 6 puck 1.8 clutch with lightweight JUN 1.8 flywheel, 1.8 LSD, GReddy manifold, Garrett T25 turbo, ARTech down pipe, E-Manage blue ecu, Altezza injectors, FMIC. Ya seen that thanks Steve, just so pissed off, I'm so broke like, if I get a fine I think I wont pay it and go to court and if they think there that it's a fineble offense I might as well just leave the country, im sick of it, I work 6/7 days a week for not much money but enough to have a little hobby of cars, a few years ago my old mx5 was broken into and the scumbag that did it was arrested but not prosecuted because "there wasn't enough evidence" even though he was caught after a long foot chase with what he used to brake the windows in his hand! But because he wasnt seen in the act doing it he got away. Then a year or two before that I was hit by a motorbike going off the clock (touching 160/170 mph on the straight before he hit me "he said himself in the hospital") that didn't have tax, no insurance (on a driving ban) and had bald tyres front and back and he gets 30 or 40000 euro into his pocket off my insurance, I never did anything to anyone and I just seem to get screwed the whole time, might as well just sell everything and get out of this place, sorry for the rant! 1990 Eunos Roadster 1.6: cusco coilovers, carbing front and rear strut braces, 1.8 brakes, performance engine and diff mounts, stage 2 cerametalic 6 puck 1.8 clutch with lightweight JUN 1.8 flywheel, 1.8 LSD, GReddy manifold, Garrett T25 turbo, ARTech down pipe, E-Manage blue ecu, Altezza injectors, FMIC. Thats a pain, only taxed mine 2 days ago nearly 350 for 6 months was sick, I'm sure you'll be ok since it will be taxed since the start of the month. Maybe head down the station if your local and show the Guard who you were talking too see if he'll show a bit of common sense.

dont get me started on the guards.... did you get his name? did he ask you to produce? i dunno, there's alot of guards that do their job and are totally rational... then you get these £$"%s that will do you for what they can.. i got stopped in march with my nct out and even though i had it booked for the next day he sent me a summons.. any friends in the guards or know any solicitor that can call the guard?

Frustrating mate and don't blame you for having a rant, do you know any gaurds at all? Even one that comes in the shop and would know you to see ya. If you do have a word with them and explain situation, I see a lot from coming in and out of garage and any of them that know you will try to help if they think your being reasonable

If you have a recipt for the work on the car which will show it was off the road or maybe a letter from the tuner, bring it into the local Garda station along with the fine & the tax disc and see if they will do anything for you. Make sure if they do that you get a record just in case the fine is not canceled & you get a summons.

I went into the local garda station after it and they said their wasn't really anything they could do (that technically he still could do me for none display of tax even though he shouldn't of since I was on the way to the tax office and taxing it from the start of the month anyway) what a joke like, it wasn't like I was avoiding taxing it, I taxed it from the start of the month when the form was signed.1990 Eunos Roadster 1.6: cusco coilovers, carbing front and rear strut braces, 1.8 brakes, performance engine and diff mounts, stage 2 cerametalic 6 puck 1.8 clutch with lightweight JUN 1.8 flywheel, 1.8 LSD, GReddy manifold, Garrett T25 turbo, ARTech down pipe, E-Manage blue ecu, Altezza injectors, FMIC. if you paid up to the start of the month you were caught , you'll be grand. Just a wanker guard flexing his stripes or maybe lack of stripes. No judge worth his salt would do you. The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.
