I been using a double edged safety razor the last while.
Mite leave using a straight razor until I have a little less to live for.

It takes patience, preparation and a good razor. Lots of skills to learn, stropping, applying the soap, hot towels and persistance. But very satisfying after about 30 shaves. Makes a lot of sence too. One good razor will last for a lifetime.

Yeah, and one false move ends your lifetime  Never tried it, might well have one at some stage but in the meantime I'll stick to my mach3's.
Who can remember their first shave..what kinda razor did you have? My Dad gave me a present of a razor and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. The "refill" had a kind of lever on it that you were supposed to turn in order to renew the blade surface..I presume it was a sort of blade on a reel, and you got about 5 turns of the lever before the blade ran out..can't remember the bloody name or make but I can visualise the razor..gonna do some searching now!

It takes practice but a good way to start is the old method of soaping up a balloon and practicing on that first.

There is a 12-18 month waiting time for any new DOVO straight Razors due to the demand.
