Somehow I managed to gouge my car at the weekend, noticed it yesterday evening. The door and sill are scrathed quite badly, the sill is worse though. The sill is dented too, and the scratch on the door leads to a dent in the quarterpanel at the door closing, which probably is a sharp dent but not big. The dent on the sill is big but not sharply dented.

I've no idea how it happened, never felt anything while driving, thought it was kids when I first saw it.

So, how should I fix it? Do the sills have a different paint with a mastik-like undercoat?

Would it be hugely expensive to get professionally painted? Anyone here ever done it themselves? I'd probably have to repaint the quarterpanel too as there's a wee rust spot forming there too.

Drivers side sill


Noticed this on passenger side sill while I was at it


They don't stick out too badly as they are low, but what's the best plan to prevent rust and further paint damage?
