Soft Top Replacement

Postby Elmar » Tue, 25 Jun 2013 9:56 +0000

Hi,

Just to let you know I just rang Nolan Auto Care in Dublin Old Nass road looking for a quote on replacing my soft top.
He wanted 650 or 615 plus vat sorry I cant remember as I am that angry.
When I said to him that I had my own brand new soft top from a MX5 supplier
he said he wasn't interested.

I live in Dublin and am prepared to travel could you advise me on a soft top fitter 1 that won't role there nose up at a job just because I bought the top
myself?

Cheers
Elmar

Hello Elmar
I would ask Robert Maguire, on here as autocheck to see if he'd do it for you, if not he will know someone who will ,very sound man.
I fitted mine myself not very difficult but time consuming the first time and you need to be indoors by right
I have a fitting dvd that came with it, can post it to you if you like also might be a opportunity for a Dublin tech day?
Best of luck with it

Hi Elmar,

without naming anyone are you able to share cost of fitting? i am currently contemplating whether or not to replace a softop as my zip has gone, great roof, and great rear screen just zip issue, if an upholsterer is too much for the repair then i may have to look for a replacement hood +fitting (eek)
