Need a mechanic in the Midlands, who to go to?

Hi Folks,

Long time member, but only recently bought an MX-5 (eunos actually '91) as a bit of a project, got it through the NCT, but its engine running a bit rough. There is a shudder at idle where the engine visibly shakes, and a splutter at the exhaust and it gets worse as the engine warms up. I thought it was a simple misfire and changed the plugs and leads. This did improve things but didn't fix the issue.

So anyway I'm looking for a decent mechanic in the midlands (I'm based around Athlone/Tullamore - but am very willing to travel for someone good) so I don't throw money at lots of bits which may/may not fix it. Any recommendations?

Cheers

Pat

Give Autocheck (Robert) a call. He's in swords and is very knowledgeable. He break mx5s so he may even have any parts you need.

good to see you got here from pistonheads! He did my timing belt recently and I'd recommend him to anyone.
