Alright guy's just gonna ask here and see what you's think

At the end of the summer i was thinkin of gettin the 5 respray in the same colour red as the bumber's are faded and the roof paint is starting to chip around the edge's and also the side skirt's are stone chipped so it's a good bitta work

In order to get it done i want the whole car the same colour all round so a full outter re-spray is need

Got a quote of 1300e is this good or bad
I got this quote from a guy who is 10 year's in the business and is on another site that i'm also on

What's your thought's guy's?

Would you not try t-cutting the paint first, and get some touch-up for the chips? See how it turns out
Total re-spray ? Dunno the going rate. :?
If you go that way, maybe you can get a price reduction if you supply the car in a ready to go state i.e. masked off etc.,
I could find a lot of other things to do with that kind of dosh :D

Sounds like a good price... I paid something similar a few years ago and that was with me doing the disassembly/reassembly (worth doing yourself actually.. ). Ask them to put an extra coat of clearcoat on ;-)

Def worth it, it makes a HUGE difference.. the car was like new when done

Fergus did his hard top with a few coats of silver spray can paint and it looks fab! How much did it cost you for the couple of cans Fergus?

That is a good price depending on one or two things. To do it right you need to strip the car. If your just going to mask up the car and re-spray just be aware that around your window will chip within a few years so dont be upset and also re-spray paint is weaker than original paint so you will notice more paint chips in time. still def worth oit. I have a BRG MkI and I hated the flat look so I re-sprayed with a metalic colour by Jaguar, looks way way better. Just be aware of the flaws of re-spray and you wont be disappointed. Also as far as I know paint is now supposed to be done in water base, that was supposed to be law 12 months ago.. Would be worth finding out if its water base or solvent. Also for that price as the five is a tiny car and takes no time to paint Id consider going a metalic markII red..

I think most places have converted to water based sprays by now.
(I think !). €1300 sounds reasonable to me.
To put it in perspective, I had my previous BMW E30 repainted fully
and it came to over €2000 - that also included some welds.

A friend of mine recently had his BMW 'keyed' on both sides from the rear tail light up to the front, he was quoted 2,500 euro for both sides. It's a black BMW BTW.
Dunno about this 'law' for spraying for cars, they do it all the time with 2 part polly and everything else so why not a car - BULLET PROOF paint

Just checked, there is no law IF you have the extraction and protection to the sprayer and the environment required to spay a 2 part polly paint.
Professionals sprayers should have that right ?
Or is it another cowboy scam so you have to get your car sprayed AGAIN in a few years...dunno but I do know GOOD PAINT IS a 2 part polly
