Hi gents,
being a lady with long hair I am loving the 'topless' driving but struggling with the wind in my hair! I would like to get roll bars and a windblocker but am wondering if the windblockers really do reduce on cabin swirling wind?
Average prices and suggestions really welcome ....I have looked at mx5parts.co.uk 4x4parts and Ebay but still shocked by the shipping costs.
Merci!

Hi Val,
I was most surprised to find that wind blockers actually work....I thought they were just for show, but if driving along and push up the blocker there is a definite change. It doesn't stop the wind completely, but without doubt there is a very noticable reduction, and yer neck doesn't have to suffer the wind-chill factor.
Hope this helps.

Yeah makes a big difference in my opinion.
if your just looking for a cheap wind block solution then you can get cheap ones that just strap between the seats. Can't say i know about there effectiveness.

Hi Val,
I brought my roll bar + windblocker from MX5Parts.

This is what is looks like opn the car:

It's better than without, but will still blow your hair about a bit.
I have a baseball cap next to my chair in case the wind starts annoying me.
So far in the last 2 years I only used the cap for about 1 hour.

Welcome Val,
I also got my windbreaker through mx5 parts and yes it does make a HUGE difference..especially if you dont have any style bars the windbreaker will sit right up against the headrests and save your hairstyle.
Yes it is worth it..treat yourself.
Regards John.

Similar question really - although I don't have the long hair!!!. Last week bought/fitted TT-style bars from Steelworks uk - all appearance really & no substance but the car looks good
I was also looking at wind-blockers, but comments/reviews appear to suggest that the blocker isn't compatible with these bars - which are bolted into the slots where the tonneau fixings were. Anyone got comments ?

got my roll bar from ebay... think it worked out to be €130 including shipping... have one of those plastic windblockers you strap round the seat heads & it works! for me it dont matter, I aint got no hair! ha ha but for my darling she says it's soo much better than holding the hair down all the time...
Thanks gents

Hi all,
Thanks all for your responses. I am impressed with the level of knowledge and help out there!!
Thanks in particular to kind gentlebugs who gave links or ideas. One member has a windblocker like I am actually bidding on...thought it would be good temporarily but am looking at getting the real deal soon.
Is it ivan or cloggy who suggested mx5parts? just interested to see what car you have as the reviews are very mixed for these bars and blockers.
I have the 1991 eunos and one mentioned how the seat rests (with speakers) can get stuck in the bars?
But..........thanks for the info!! Come on Arsenal in the Champions League Final.....................................................wha????????? we're not??????????

Hi Val, I've got a MK II from 2000, so my roll bar/wind-blocker is no good to you.
Why don't you join us at one of the runs (see Runs and tech-days) and you can see the different things people have done to their cars + where they got them. It's great to do up ideas and there is always someone to give you a hand fitting/fixing things.

Hi Val,
This is the one I have, it sits up nice and high and goes across both headrests....In my opinion gives better windblocking.
Fitted perfectly on my 91 Vspec BRG.

Hi John,
Being a member of the 91 vspec BRG gang myself I have a bit of an O.C.D question..........does this blocker not look 'odd' against the tan seats?
Found a site where they sell rounded persex (spelling!) glass windblockers....tinted or clear.........look great and then they charge almost two hundred plus postage.
Surely to god someone has a nifty but not 'sticky back plastic and toilet roll' option?
