Car Storage

Postby Eoghanb123 » Sun, 03 Jan 2016 3:32 +0000

OK so my mx5 is my daily so always in use even in this weather. However I will be going to America in March until September. I'm stuck between two options and need advice for storage.
1) Pay to store car in dry storage for 6 months
2) Store car on driveway under a tarp.
Pretty safe area so not concerned with safety just want to know what people suggest.
Also my family would be able to start the car occasionally to prevent car from seizing up if on my driveway.

Hello Eoghan

Found this and thought it might be a good solution for you , they seem to have plenty of different sizes and prices .
No car cover touching the paint and plenty of air around the car ,hope it helps

I was thinking of it. However not very suitable on my driveway but the cost of storage is only 280 for the 6 months I'm away which I think is very good value.

a good windy day would make sh of one of them covers, tarps too, it'd be better stored indoors or out door without a tarp. Tarps lock in moisture and might scrath up your paint work. I woudent worry about the time period, just disconnect your bvatter and it should be fine, definetly leave handbreak off too
