Fergal, dont touch mx with chassis rails needing repair.Rest of the car will be rotten/rusty etc.Probably ex UK car most likely

Yeah, just wondering whats involved, it's hard to see the rails without taking off the undertray right?

Absolutely.Under tray needs to be taken off but run your hand under the chassis rails and feel for rust/bulges and be careful rust can leave sharp edges etc. Avoid it if its rusty.You are only buying rubbish and ongoing rust repairs etc

Robert what are the NI cars like for rust? Few late mk2.5s in dealers up there.

Same rusty generally but ideally each car needs checking.Lads from NI buy down here because they are cleaner. Dont get desperate. Soem old saying something like.Buy in haste ,regret at leisure or something like that....Whats your max budget??

4k or so, depends how much I can siphon from the home improvement fund! All depends on condition and spec. Hardtop would be nice too.

Would you not buy that mint 63k blue 2003 ?? one with hardtop but asking 4.5k but maybe bit less for me.Its original Irish car which I sold him last year.Everything done ie timing belt ,nct etc. 1.6 .Mint cat really. You wont get better than this

Gold 98 RS on donedeal 2800e ,may need soft top but we have new ones in stock.

No not really and you could fit aftermarket ecu at later stage to tune it up a bit.Cheaper tax and insurance also.

Only if I don't tell them about the modifications! Any pics of this 1.6 by chance?
