Ok.. are you given an option when renewing for Classic or normal insurance. My current is a 2002 so not in the Classic bracket, but when I'm going to start using the mk1 which is a 1992 I will want it as my daily driver. Because of its age will I be restricted to just a Classic policy or can I get a regular policy. I never insured a car that old before so haven't a clue.
Thanks

Hi Ray - when I insured mine (1993), as part of the general routine questioning at the start, with a couple of companies, I was asked if this was going to be my main (daily) car or a second car (with restricted use/mileage). She said the price difference would be "considerate"! This would suggest you can insure it as your "only car".... but it may be costly.

As above Ray, I'm limited to 3000 miles P.A. , and it cannot be my daily driver. I will be taking it off the road during the winter so the 3000 mile limit is not too oppressive, but if I find that I want to extend the mileage it's only a matter of ringing them up and paying a surcharge..
P.S. As I'm over 50, with zero points or recent claims helps also!
