Saw a silver one advertised lately, it was listed and pictured as being on its original steel wheels, I always thought that they came on alloys, anyway it must have sold quick enough as I spotted the car parked near Furbo beach a few days ago, even on steel wheels it still looked good

My 1999 NB when I first seen it, in front of the main dealer in Letterkenny was
with 5 others, all sitting on steel wheels. The reason I was given, was to keep the
import price down, so that the customs guys got a smaller chunk of the money.

My first stop after picking up the car and before heading home, was a tyre place
in Burt to get the tyres changed over to alloy wheels. Later I got snow tyres on the
steel wheels but used them with plastic wheel trim covers, as I didn't like the look
of them naked, compared to the steel wheels of my Triumph Spitfire.

I suppose anything go's when trying to reduce the import charges.
You certainly made good use of the triumph

Yea, that NB also came with manual window winders but electric up+down ariel.
I think for the same reason. Although the ones I looked at at the main dealer in
Dunkineley at the same time had electric windows and manual ariel.

That photo of the unpainted camping trailer was taken at a campsite at the Rose
of Tralee, soon after I had finished designing and building the pram-hood style top
out of leatherette and one-inch square hollow section iron, and fitting it to the
trailer I had already made, to carry products we were making at the ZapAsh factory
in Mountrath at the time, to justify the company paying the insurance on my 2 seater
sports car. I still remember the bang when my home made towing hitch hit the
ramp of the Tarbert Ferry on my route home up the west coast.

The other photo was taken after I got home after a week camping on Achill Island
with the Irish Hang Gliding Club learning to fly the glider I bought and brought back
on the rack I designed and made for it, before I had it to measure against.
It turned out to be very effective in use, only having to be removed if I had to open
the bonnet.

Really well done, don't suppose health and safety would allow anything like that now
