As E10 is mandatory from April, I wonder how compatible is the mk1 mx5, I'm sure it will run reasonably ok but how compatible are the rubber fuel pipes etc

I'd a look at the forums in the USA when this was mentioned initially, they've been using it in some states for 10+ years without issues in mk1 MX5's so we should be good until they ramp it up to 80%

Think the only complaint was the car felt a little down on power. I guess an octane booster would sort that out.

I was reading up on this a bit. All relatively modern cars should be A1, Im more worried abut 2 stroke power tools & my carbureted motor bike, also my future air-cooled VW project bus. the longevity of the fuel is a general concern for cars used infrequently. Ethanol is hydroscopic so attract water over time too weakening the solution and causing rust issues. hopefully the treatments should sort this out.
My family have a collection of classics that are started maybe a couple of times a year for summer runs or every other year, with total disregard for fuel etc. This will need review.
Al the UK topic official and form forums all say if in doubt continue to use E5 premium (which we be no longer available here)

With that amount of classics it'd cost a fortune on additives, maybe have a look at removing the ethanol altogether
