Still need to get the centre covered + figure out the buttons/backlighting (think I might have that bit sorted..).

<devil's advocate hat on>

Hate to be the party pooper, but that does nothing for me at all! The proportions are all wrong with the rest of the interior, it's far too chunky, the brushed aluminum clashes with the chrome bezel and stainless handles and that big Owl looks terrible.

Took the airbag out, it was blown, you can see the 4 lines in the plastic centre where I've glued it. Am thinking I'll just have this bit covered.

Yeah, fair nuff, wasn't sure it was gonna be ok myself, but I like it. The pics don't show the proportions properly really as I've focused on the wheel tho, it is definately chunky though ;-) I reckon its the same diameter as the original mk1 Momo (or close enough) judging by how much of the dials I can see.

*Edit : Actually.. yeah it does look massive in the first pic ;-) I'll take one from the passenger side ;-)

I reckon you might have started a fashion here Steve, how long before we see "replica" mk3 wheels on e-bay for use in a mk1??Patent the idea quickly :lol: :lol:

I like it Steve - are all the controls working and, if so, how did you manage the connections?

No, not yet Tom.
A deal I had on a Mazda 626 clockspring fell through.. need to source another.

I picked up a wee box of tricks that will allow me to convert the signal from the wheel to an infrared signal.. which you put in your centre console and point at your stereo. You use your stereo remote control to program it. Nifty.
The buttons have red backlighting too apparently, need to figure that one out too.

Need the clockspring first though..

Think I'll keep it for a little bit in case I change my mind.. ;-) If I don't I'll prob still it in the "for sale" section.
