It'd be classed as a kit car, so what the craic with kitcar insurance here, anyone know? Expensive/reasonable & what are the conditions etc?

Hi Stig,

No is the answer. I spoke to the Kit car club secretary at the Terenure show and he told me they have a group insurance at €150 p.a. Not bad eh!

I think there are certain limitations on the IKCC group policy. For example, you have to have a main car that's insured elsewhere, a mileage restriction, etc. That said, €150 is nothing for what would be a weekend car fr most people.

The biggest PITA would be taking it to Ingerland for a SVA test then paying whatever VRT the Mexican Midget Wrestlers at the VRO in Rosslare feel like charging on the day...
