Re: Budgetwe should do what france does, don't give them any money, put them in a big cold building in dorms, 2 basic meals a day and they won't hang about long. i'm sick of hearing politicians say it's eu policy and we have to give them all the benefits. how come we're the only country doing it........!
Re: BudgetSure Stig but who's paying for it now. Us poor misfortunates who's pockets the FF brigade are picking to bail out their banking and builder/developer buddies
CAUTION: (A) Take care that another dip into our pocket's today could be an insurance levy as requested yesterday, for his support, by former PD TD Grealy. (B) A tax on our homes, as requested by the minority Green's who come next election, no doubt, will go the way of the PD's - up in smoke.
Re: BudgetBarney,
The problem is they're coming to Ireland because they find out that we're a soft touch.
Re: Budgetsure haven't i said that already. will be back later, heading for norn iron to save myself 2 or 3 hundred euro and at least then i might have a few euro to spend in my local at xmas seeing as us workers don't get any xmas bonus, thank f--k they're doing away with that.
Re: Budgetthere will be a bigger stream of cars heading up now, with TRAILERS for gas and bags of Coal.

Re: Budgetyour right Barney, give them the dole, give the job offers, if they dont get off their arses cut it. Give them another wee bit of time and some comunity work if still no job. Their are genuine cases i know only too well but the dole is way too high for young lads who stay at home and wont get off theirs arses.

Re: BudgetAirside Swords.......Subway. 6.50 euro
Portrush Antrim......Subway. £4.00........same roll, same outlet. WHY ?????? The shops and Hotels up in NI have realised years ago that dropping their margins attract custom. Down here, no trade........ =" oh, ill just put up my prices again". The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.
Re: BudgetIt's all done bar the shouting now..................and OUCH!
Re: Budget15 bottles of miller £7, bottle of hennesy brandy £20, jameson, powers and bush £14. all in asda. no magners cider, can't get it in fast enough according to shelf stacker. i see they're going to make it illegal to bring coal, briquettes etc. across the border. another money spinner for entrepreneurs in the border region.
Re: Budget
I don't think it was too bad, should have done that a year ago.
Re: Budgetnot to bad...! ok if you're in the private sector, bankers, accountants, solicitors etc., but what about the likes of us on the lower rungs of the puplic sector pay scales, 5% gone. fcuking licenced pickpocket.
Re: Budget
For most in the private sector you're only beginning to catch up with the cuts we had to take over the last 18 Months. It's rough but you guys are not alone. I lost 15% myself November last Year. It has to be done. If there's less money coming into the pot then it's the only way. Best to make these cuts now and give the country some chance of recovery. Still don't understand why the hell we had to save ALL the Banks though or why nobody has been tried for fraud.
Re: Budgeti have no complaints about high earners in the public sector paying more but i and a lot more like me earn a pittance in comparison. heard a man on the radio yesterday saying his total benifits, with a wife and two kids living in a council house, amounted to 534euro per week not including child benefit and he was complaining about cuts. i work and would barely earn that in a good week, and i have to pay for my own house and medical bills etc. the problem is that the papers state that the average weekly pay in the public service is 970euro per week or thereabouts so you can imagine what the fat cats are getting. these latest cuts will also bring a lot more low earning public service workers into the doctor visit and medical card schemes which is only going to cost more money.
