Towing car

Postby Geese » Tue, 06 Apr 2010 1:54 +0000

Hi guys, I'll be selling my 5 soon (sadly) cause I'm taking up motor racing.

I'm looking for a car capable of towing a car+trailer. If anyone know someone who is selling a cheap car please give me a shout on 1122334@gmail.com or 08634780875

I'm racing an.... UNO.

actually Frank. You have an old merc don't ya?

I was looking at 93-97 c class mercs... What are they like?

I don't want to get something really boring. If I can't have performance i'll settle for luxury.

so far I've been looking at
C class
Accord
3 series.

I did have an old CE coupe - the W124 denomination ('88 to '94). Totally loved it.

I would highly recommend a W124 - best car BMW ever made.

The C-class is fine, but the E-class of that vintage, especially around '99 to '01 has notorious rust problems so you'd need to be sure the C-class doesn't have the same. Something to do with the new formula of paint MB decided to use.

Steve has a W123 estate, which is the '80s model E-class.

Alas I can't insure anything that's over 15 years....

And not looking to pay ridiculous road tax either :(

spotted this.. the interior is a bit crappy but I suppose it'll do

i have a donty laugh......Rover 618 i that i was gonna use for night navigation rallies but didnt bother using it. A friend gave it to me and its sat outside since. Its the one with the Honda running gear. Needs a wheel bearing and a battery , is met wine and never damaged. ITS FREEEEEEEEE TO A GOOD HOME.

Does it have NCT or tax?
Or more importantly... a tow bar?

worth sticking the rover in for an nct test and if theres too much to do forget it but if you're lucky you could have 2yrs cheap motoring. towbars can be picked up cheaply on e bay or in scrap yards especially in norn iron where rovers were fairly popular.
