Looking for Power Steering Pipes Mk1

Postby clogher71 » Tue, 18 May 2010 9:47 +0000

Hi All

I am looking for good condition p/s pipes off a 94-98. High pressure from the pump to rack&from resivor to rack, new ones are silly money, and mine sprung a leak and she is parked until I fit replacements.

Any one see a car in a breakers yard?

I found one that was traded in on the scrappage scheme!!!, yes someone 'scrapped' an MX-5, but it was pre 94!

If you can get the old one off, take it to a hydraulic pipe specialist and get a new one made up. Quite cheap but perfectly workable. If it's good enough for a Caterpillar, it's good enough for an MX5 :)

Hi Guys

traynors have nothing, pipes off, been to the 'hydraulic shop', cannot make me new ones, cannot match the unions that screws onto the rack, (old ones fought hard not to be taken off and did not survive the battle)&the joint where the steel pipe meets the rubber hose. May have some s/h located in the UK, but just worried about rust from salt....

PS not Dooler.

Hi Guys

I have located a guy in Meath who specializes a little in breaking all models of Mazdas , he has at least 3 MX5's, he is supposed to ship out the pipes and a few other small bits to me tomorrow(via fastway), he is not the guy who advertises on done-deal, (the 'join the community guy' I think he is Meath too), failing that I have located a breaker in the UK that will ship them to me.

Thanks for all the replys....
