Idea for AnniversaryYou know there has been a lot of chat over the anniversary of the mx5, what year is it, what will we do to mark it and when will we do it. Id like to put my tupence worth in. As part of the Killarney Historics rally there is a way to become part of it without actually rallying. The Historics brings a lot of good (not boy racer) car fans to Killarney and it is also televised. There may be a way for us to do a stage either before the main event or just after and do a parade through Molls gap, road closed..!! Its just an idea, as it is a historic rally and our cars will have reached that historic age it might be a nice thing to do. Let me know what you think, we have plenty time to organise so its just ideas for now...

They could have a "token" role maybe?.....driving behind us,stopping to pick up the bouquets of flowers thrown in our direction? Also, they could buy us copious amounts of alcohol in the bar afterwards and laugh at our jokes Sean og
COOL Idea..
Again same question as "coughlanstephen " would the definition of Vintage exclude mk 2. mk2.5 and mk 3 ???
What we would try to do it celebrate the history of the Mx-5, not just the MK1, if anything I think it would be a good way of showing joe public the progressions made with the MX-5 over its life and also show how Mk1 drivers are more ballsy..!!!! But seriously though, there would be tv coverage and maybe we could try and get as many Mx5 together as possible. People would have to either commit or feck off though cause if we were to pull this off there would be no maybes. It would take a year to get organised, check out all the regs, insurance, etc etc and go from there.

1989 register !!!!!Fla thats great idea
Are we considering identifying as many early models as possible, wouldnt it be an idea to get all the members with the early cars registered /ingormed of the progession to 2009 to achieve a nice big turnout, I know there are lots of classic car owners out there like for example, members of the jaguar and daimler club who are holding onto the early cars for the classic car runs. Maybe it could be publicised with something like the current type of run that the mini owners with their malin to mizen run, any other ideas of suggestions people, i am sure someone can think of a charity that could benefit.
