Hi Cloggy

What I have so far is with Irish Ferries direct to France

Outward Journey

Either

Rosslare - Cherbourg
Tues 17-May-11, 15:30 Oscar Wilde arr 18th
1 x Car, MPV, 4x4 (up to 1.90m high)
2 x Adult
1 x Cabin

or

Rosslare - Roscoff
Thu 19-May-11, 16:00 Oscar Wilde arr 20th
1 x Car, MPV, 4x4 (up to 1.90m high)
2 x Adult
1 x Cabin

Returning

Cherbourg - Rosslare
Tue 24-May-11, 18:00 Oscar Wilde arr 25th
1 x Car, MPV, 4x4 (up to 1.90m high)
2 x Adult
1 x Cabin

€ 336.00 rtn for either choice.

Talk at the xmas lunch was that some would like a longer drive down through France and others might just want to get there for the Sunday racing and not spend the weekend.

Everyone agreed Direct Ireland to France so I hope we are all OK with that. Seems like the promised ferry from Cork to Spain hasn't materialised, unless anyone knows different? It might be nice to come back a different way and if it left on Monday that would be cool!

Personally I'm thinking of the 17th to the 24th with a stop over in France on the way down on the night of the 18th arr in Espania on the evening of the 19th. Then its up to everyone what they fancy doing from there .. any thoughts?

I'm still fond of finding a house - have a few feelers out

Would like to firm up on numbers for the Sunday so I can get tickets for us all together.

Comments, observations???

Ok, my colleague in Barcelona can help. He asked me for an indication as to how many the house should accommodate.
Btw: I've been on numerous holdYs where we rented a villa; did you check www.villaplus.com or www.premier-holidays.com?

Hi Cloggy

thanks for your help

I suspect it's the gang, no one yet has said no to a house and I think after Donegal it was agreed the way to go! That would be 17 at last count (-2 if you guys are camping)

I'm more than happy to go for 2 houses. I do remember saying something along the lines of one for sleeping one for partying last time.

I have a few sites that I use for Italy and the USA. So I'll carry on searching. One thing was also mentioned, we're just as happy not to be in the city as parking might be easier outside .. and we do have the cars!

Thanks again
Shena

PS thanks for the chrimbo pressie .. very cool

Guys - I know this is a bit far out (just over an hour from Barcelona and the track) but WOW

http://www.alwaysonvacation.com/vacatio ... 68421.html

and another

http://www.alwaysonvacation.com/vacatio ... 10533.html

I need some guidance here. We're not likely to get somewhere closer to the track.

Do I look at Barcelona and split us up or the mountains?

"Este viaje" sounds so great and "me quito el sombrero" to all of you for being so on the ball organizing it to this point. Sonja and myself would be very keen on meeting up with you all for "El Grande", so put us down as possibles.

Ok ladies and gents I need some feedback.

Locations
1. are we happy to be 1 hr away from Circuit?
2. are we happy to be 1 hr + away from Barcelona?
3. do we want a beach or mountain location?
3. are the Ferry times what we are happy with?
4. where do we want to be for the race .. http://www.grandprix-tickets.com/index. ... TKTS_SPAIN

Prices for the houses are coming in anywhere from 100-220 each for 4 nights , but until some of the provs become defs I can't progress as there are too many so I'm not sure what size palace I would be looking at.

Ditto for the tickets which would be anywhere from 100 to 400 depending on the location.

Shena.................we are thinking yes to most of your questions, an hour is nothing really, house prices would be good on the sub 200 and as for tickets, is general admission what you are thinking? Wish I was an MP(but only for a weekend!) they could get in for nothing.

regards

I would be (an hour or two even).
shenab wrote:2. are we happy to be 1 hr + away from Barcelona?

Not too fussed about being near Barcelona itself either (especially if we're staying north of it along the coast, its fab).
shenab wrote:3. do we want a beach or mountain location?

Either is fine with me.
shenab wrote:3. are the Ferry times what we are happy with?

I see Rosslare -> Cherbourg on the 18th(Irish Ferries?) with a return on the 25th?
Would prefer this maybe, as opposed to a Tues return, as more time to drive back than to get down. But open to a Tues return at the same time.

E and H are pretty good I hear...

Looking at the map, Stand H looks good, big screen straight on. Cost is reasonable @ €292 for a weekend ticket. On a straight, however one should have a view of both corners. P
