Ye he originally wanted 2,250 for it. He said it was a private sale but he screamed dealer who wanted to save on the books to me.. Even with a 2yr test on it it's worth nowhere near 2k but try telling him that! :p

Well I rang him today anyways. He says he had the car 6 months but he can't get insurance on it. The car has been pretty much sitting in his garden the past few months and he is sick looking at it. The roof has several tears which are temporarily patched with Duck tape! So the car needs a complete roof costing a fair few hundred euro to get done.
It has an induction kit in it also which bothers me as it screams I've been ragged!
He says he does not know much about cars so he thinks the car is fine. Sounds like a young enough lad, He says he put it through the NCT late last year and it passed but it has only 1 yr left on it. Has 151k km's on it as it's an import.

Is it worth my while looking at this car do you think? I really dont know if I should bother looking at it. Some sort of an aftermarket gauge on the A pillar aswell which I think screams chav!.

Go look at it, it will give you a comparison for the next car you look at.
The more you look at the more you will learn.

I wouldn't be too worried about the induction kit but I hate those pillar pods, chav is right.

New pads front and rear
NCTd till 2012
Brand new Toyo Proxes
60k miles (100k km), which is nothing for a 98
Have to sell for personal reasons
Come out and have a look and make me an offer

Yep, that one. The dodgy roof wouldn't have been a problem so long as everything else was in good nick, I had planned on going to see it but the vendor informed me that he had it sold. As mentioned earlier , worth looking at for the asking.

I saw another 93 jap mx5 today, radiator fan was on constantly? There was a new water pump and timing belt in it. Mechanically it was pretty good but the body work was not great. A couple of after Market interior switches that didn't seem to do anything... Too much cosmetic work needed so I walked...

However on a positive note I'm going to look at another one on Monday in BRG
