That in 1990, there was a 24 hr race in mondello park, specifically for citroen 2cv's...and top gear ,with a very young looking reporter called Jeremy Clarkson, actually covered the event????

Steve Rigley bought a 2CV from Greystones a couple of years ago - the car had obviously been laid up for a couple of years, but we managed to get it started and wobbled/swayed our way onto the M50 back to Dublin. Queue the "it's getting hot in here, is this the vent ?" question whereupon a million spiders dead and alive blew out of the dashboard into the interior of the car. What followed was a hasty and shocking retreat to the hard-shoulder.

That same spider family still turns up in various cars in Galway and Dublin...

I'd have one again (and hope to), such a laugh + with 600cc you learn how to manage momentum pretty quickly.

PS I got a bit pissed off when Clarkson referred to Modello's location as "outside Dublin"..It's in Co. Kildare, you pillock!!!!

I used to keep a joke spider above my passenger sunvisor... always good for a chuckle when it would drop into passengers lap when they pull down the visor until I was giving a senior Director a lift one day..... all I could say was "tut tut, the kids"
