Hello From Wales

Postby LightningMxQueen » Sat, 31 Mar 2012 1:26 +0000

Hi everyone, my name is certainly Irish but I was born in Wales :D
I have two Mk1s, a 1994 Eunos V-Spec in IRG (Irish Racing Green) and a UK spec 1997 Red slightly customised car, see photos below.

I have a trip organised to the Nurburgring in Germany for about 6-7 MX5s at the back end of May, we go every year anyway but since we got the Mx`s we have run a non-profit making trip for any owners who want to come along.

I would like to extend an invitation to any Irish owners who fancy tagging along if possible?
We live near Bridgend in S. Wales and very close to M4 motorway for anyone who comes over via Pembroke or Fishguard...get in touch if you want to come along.

Anyway, here are a few photos of the cars.

WOW!! I love the lightning mc queen styling.
Unfortunately time and money prevent me from going to the 'ring this year, I was there with a group two years ago, must say that place is just awesome.
That picture of you exiting the carousel is brilliant.

Aaah....memories

BTW, what kinda costings are you talking about for your trip, as a matter of interest, like........ (credit card is now buzzing like mad in my pocket)

PS..Welcome to our forum!!

PPS..You do realise that you may have opened a can of worms by referring to your car colour as "Welsh" racing green....everyone knows it's actually "Irish" racing green

Hi thanks for the welcome, our family`s Irish connections are pretty strong

The Lightning McQueen car was a bit of a drunken Ebay moment (and then a 1200 mile trip with that XC90 and 5T plant trailer all the way to Oban in Scotland to collect it) and originally just for fun, the registration number is worth a lot more than I paid for it :D but it has proved so good as a car that we have decided to take it to Germany this year, will soon see if the stereotype `Germans have no sense of humour :|` is true or not...innit?

The green one has an RS Limited engine (260,000kms) but is otherwise pretty standard apart from some improved Bilstien suspension.

Hi and thanks for the welcome, ha ha - Irish Racing Green it is then! (see edit above)

Have sent you a PM regarding the `Ring trip, just might be of interest.....

Just remembered  last year before we went I had a local nun bless the car before we went (seriously!)
