From Sligo to Clifden 13/08/2012

Hi,

Tomorrow morning we're leaving Sligo towards Clifden (and day 14.082012 we'll travel from Clifden to Gallway)

Any suggestion on the way from Sligo to Clifden? (not only roads, because our wifes would like to visit nice towns also)

Today we've drive arround the Gleniff Horse Shoe Valley (near the Ben Bulben) and it was really spectacular despite the cloudy and rainy morning.

Westport is a good spot to visit.
Then drive down to Clifden via louisberg, leenane (Hamilton's bar is good for soup + sandwich, its the bar with the petrol pumps outside), Glassillaun, Omey Island, Clifden.

Worth stopping at Connemara National Park too if you have the time, really great views from the mountain.

Clifden to Galway, the coast is great, Roundstone is good for lunch, check out the coral beach in Carraroe..

According with googlemaps, it would take arround 4 hours to do the route, it seems a goog idea.

After a hard discussion with the rest of the croud, we'll try to do the route you suggested after Wexford, it looks great!

Also the one between Clifden and Gallway seems nice!
