Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30you shouldnt skimp out on oil... good oil can make a difference to your engines life span!!
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30castrol magnatec presently on offer in Halfords for 20euro

Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30i got MOBIL 1 0W 40 a couple o weeks a go is that the wrong oil
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30Just back from halfords, now have enough 10w40 to lubricate a jumbo...
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w305w 30 is the correct oil for an mx5 yea?
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30I might be wrong on this but as far as I know the Mazda runs on 10w40. 5w30 is for more modern petrol and diesel engines.
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30Yep me too, picked up a 4l of Magnatec for the next oil change.! 10 W 40 that is.

Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30
its hard to get an answer like that you know thanks
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30Tesco just had the Carlube 5w30 on sale for €6.50....yes, you read that right! I cleaned them out.........
Re: Tesco Carlube 5w305w30 and 10w40, they both work. You will find Mazda recommending 5w30 for the Mx-5 in some owners manuals, while a lot of Mazda dealerships use 10w40 for oil changes.
Edit: 5w30 has a lower temperature range, so better for colder climates. 10w40 can take hotter temperature ranges. Since we are in Ireland with a small range, never under +10, never over +30 C, it seems to come down to preference. Re: Tesco Carlube 5w30I cleaned out the local Tesco down here in Killarney too........
A while back they had 1L bottles of Tesco 20w50 for €1 - yes, that's right! €1!! I cleaned that out too, and did the Douglas shop also, my old British bikes just love that stuff!! Being a little thicker, it doesn't leak with the same vigour either!
