NCT exemptions

Anybody know for sure what year the MX5 need to be to exempt emissions test ???? Some say 20 years old ...others pre 1991??.Will 1993 be exempt next year ??

As in more than 20 years old ,so next year 1993 will be exempt ??

My old 93 never had a cat and always passed NCT.

No, not a rolling 20years date and its definitely on or before 31st Dec '93 for exemption

I had 93 for NCT last week and it failed on emissions .Now I have it sorted ,air flow meter exchanged,readings went from ,believe it or not ,11.5 down to 0.8 yes 0.8 !!!

Was that the one with the dodgy horn button? Did you get that sorted??

YES same car ,but they did not check it !!! I think its the connection between the wheel and the column so easy enough to sort as you suggested .

googled classic cars Ireland, only cars pre 1/1/1980 are exempt from nct
