No choice, but......

Postby leamyj » Tue, 29 Jan 2013 7:02 +0000

Well, sorry to say it, but I'm afraid We won't be driving an mx5 this year.
Fecking recession/austerity/property taxes/ household charges/ usc..take your pick, but the nett outcome is that the shillings are scarcer than ever.
Hoping to give the green car a blast during at least one track day, which is feasible given that mondello is just down the road.
We will really miss the runs, although they were scarce enough last year too. As Elvis said in the KitKat ad, " I'm not dead, I'm just taking a break!"
I shall continue to enjoy the forum, throwing in my tuppence worth wherever I feel confident to do so.
Happy motoring guys and gals, hope to rejoin you soon!

John & Mairead.

John. Sorry to hear that, but it is a sign of the times. You can always do a bit of passenger seat surfing on the runs. Talk shortly. Paschal

Don't be a stranger, as Paschal said, be sure and come along for some passenger seat surfing (at least you'll have several designated drivers ;-) ).

Haha, thanks Shena....Was thinking today that I could shift the insurance from the focus to the mx5 for 2 months of the Summer, if we get a scorcher that is! This would necessitate an NCT of course, and also mean that there'd be feck all taxi'ing of the kids ( and grown ups) for those two months..could it work?????

John, at least one of your "kids" should be persuaded to get herself a little motor and provide the summer taxi?

I have heard a rumour that summer '13 is supposed to be a scorcher .... long way off yet, you never know what could happen
