all this rain has me dreaming of the summer

Hi All,

Liam here (NC BBR Super 200) not been on the site for a very long time (and previously was when I just got it, sorry ) anyway, the car has been away for different stages over the last few years getting various minor bits n pieces improved.
I got the back inch and half of the sills cut out and replaced, the diagonal braces replaced with geniune mazda ones, everything else cleaned, brushed and pumped/coated with waxoil. Next was the suspension, new droplinks, BBR suspension upgrade (special Kuoni dampers and bilstien springs), was very tempted to go the Meister CRD route as there wasn't that much difference in cost but didn't want to get in too deep and start fiddling, adjustable dampers are enough for me! Brakes refreshed and all fluids done. IL silicone hose kit was next and I think that was it for 2022 time to enjoy it over the summer.
2023 was time to attack the body, there had always been lots of car park dings and a few major scrapes on the car as well as lacquer peel on n/s front wing, every panel bar the boot had some blemish so a full respray was in order and at the same time I decided to fit a roll bar and new alloys, haven't seen it yet but the work is underway, a few more hoses to do be done once more parts removed for respray.
Here are a few pics of ongoing work and looking forward to sending on more once completed.
I'm really looking forward to enjoying it over the summer and plaguing anyone who is interested to do some runs around the west, north, midlands..............anywhere really!

Nice amount of work to do, I've seen some videos of pretty serious rust on this model, how's your car effected

Hi Pops,

Apart from the tail end sections of the sills as mentioned above it was all clear. The inner wings were taken out and the fire retard fiber? / sound deadening? removed so that the area around the fixings which hold it in place could be treated. Seemingly this is a know weak spot as the fiber gets wet and rusts through the at the fixings, have pics somewhere and will dig out. Everything else was brushed off and sealed apart from sills which were all pumped.

Some great work going on. I dread to think of the condition of Stripey beneath the skin (just prefer not to think about it!).
