Advice on IOM trip

Postby Pete JB » Thu, 20 Nov 2008 9:17 +0000

Hi All,
I've been hanging around the site for the last wee while now & have just looked in to the Isle of Man trip next year. After looking at the prices I'm very very interested but haven't even met any of you guys at all.

What do you all reckon, who's planning on going & what can I expect from a track day, I've always wanted to get a bit of sideways action but never had the balls on the road & didn't want to wreck my beloved car on the track. ps I have a bog standard 1.8 Mk2 1999.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Pete

Hi Pete. There is an update on the Isle Of Man thread further down the forum. Plans are having to be altered given that mazda are not willing to back us in the project.

Well, fook Mazda, they didnt do crap for us for years here in Ireland and thats a fact, all talk etc but at the end of the day the so-called 'Mazda Dealers' were still asking for numbers etc and telling us all to fook off.
Fook em, get all your parts online for cheaper !
We'll do our own thing just like we have always done, and we can put it online....WITHOUT any 'interferance' from Mazda.
The only reason they are trying to 'butt in' now is because Mx5Ireland is after becoming the biggest club in Ireland and they have nadda control.
So I say again, fook em, lets go drive and have some fun !
THAT'S what the MX5 is all about :D
