Buckled alloy wheel

Postby x5trebor » Mon, 20 Jul 2009 12:42 +0000

I have a 97 Irish car which is very basic, with what I think are the original alloys but one of them has a pretty major buckle. Has anyone had a buckle taken out of a wheel and how successful was it or does anyone know where I might get one of these original wheel s I would like to keep everything as original as possible. I will try and up-load a picture of them.

Thanks Robbie.

How bad is the buckle? I got this repair at Ballyneety tyres recently:

Its can only be seen when you jack up the car and spin the wheel. It is like a flat in the outer diameter of the wheel. The only reason I found it was a passenger who collects classic car noticed a vibration at low speed and we went looking.

There's bound to be a few original wheels around surely as most cars would seem to have fitted after-market ones. You tried autolink? or even flea-bay??

You may be able to get this reshaped I've got 2 of them done here locally by Sp heat transfer, as long as the wheel isn't cracked, the last one cost me 80 yoyos only a month ago, (renault alloy).
