Moisture in boot

Postby landmarkjohn » Sat, 17 Dec 2011 10:02 +0000

Hi All, this is our second winter with a '98 MX5 and we notice a lot of moisture inside boot lid, sweating kinda like the back of the fridge. Don't remember it being like this last year. Only thing that has changed in meantime is a new roof. Do they all do this? Thanks

Is the back parcel shelf wet? Check under the carpet to see if sound proofing is wet. Also could be leaking light seals, ariel hole. What type of battery do you have?

My own boot leak problem was caused by the rubber around the boot lock barrel being missing so water came in thru the keyhole. Fixed it by sealing with silicone.
