Diff oil seal fitting

Postby back_in_black » Mon, 14 Apr 2014 9:23 +0000

Getting ready to change my diff to a torsen type 2. Got the 2 half shaft seal and the one for the input shaft.
Before I go at it I'm wondering how you remove the input shaft to change the seal?
Thanks
Alan

Its unlikely front seal is leaking but are the preload settings not on the big nut in front of driveshaft flange?? If they are do not remove as diff is set up from there .If not just unbolt the flange nut and pull out.I think replacing the two outer seals is probably all you need to do.Check it out before you start work on it.

Thanks Robert.
Everything looks fine on the front seal so I'll just change the sides and hopefully that will be it.
