Hi folks,

Sorry for the delay but here it is!!! Fresh off the press after the thumbs up from the editor.
Enjoy the Great retro mx5 retro robbery Weekend storyyyyyy :DDD
DAY 1
The Great Retro mx5 robbery weekend hehe

Friday Day 1

Well another chapter has been written into the history of the mx5 owner’s enthusiast dude and dudette hmmm don’t say the word (club) group.

This was a fantastic weekend and I hope that everyone reading this can get a bit of the excitement that was had by all over the 3 days. Ill explain as we go how the retro robbery took place but it was sneaky and tactical all the same, right everyone!!!
Ok so here it goes.

It started on a dull Friday afternoon, with the forecast looking as good as being in the Caribbean during hurricane season.
I had got the notice that there was a meet to be had at 4.30 at the bat cave. (Other wise known as Ivan’s place of work).
The morning had started well enough because I had wormed my way out of work for the exciting meet to take place in the beloved county of Galway and the hospitality to be put up by lovely Galwegians.

I picked up some pressies for John (bow chicka wow wow) Cheatley in Tallaght and had got the car prepared for the zoom over to Galway. So I set out a 4.15 to meet my fellow drivers for the epic journey to Galway. The drivers for the run were Ivan, Feargal and Dave tigger G. After a quick drink for Ivan’s Porsche, which by the way I think is an alcoholic because I think it drank Galway dry of the petrol stuff!!

We got under way following Ivan, and decide to go back roads through Lucan to get the N4. After a little zoom, I noticed we were doubling back again and I thought that’s the end of the weekend? Wow hmmm I had no clue where Ivan was going but the surprise could not be spoiled, back road after back road until we got to a familiar place in Maynooth.

There we met up with one of the old timers, Sorry frank not old but older oh well yes he’s an ancient dude enthusiast member hehe.
We got cracking after this quick meet up, and on our way we soon found ourselves zooming towards the west of the country.
I couldn’t believe that there were people robbing drivers on the new motorway but there they were with guns holding people up for 2 Euro 60 man o man what a rip. Poor people just trying to get to there destination!!! ok ok moan over, so after the robbery we got going proper woooo hooo.

Zooming by each other we all took turns to lead but we were very civil to each other and eventually settled in to a very easy formation when all of a sudden, the man upstairs decided to let the heavens open!!! Rain poured down around us and at one point it was the blind leading the blind!!!! We couldn’t see anything; Ivan later told us how he nearly saw what Frank was eating in the car only for Frank turned on his red fog light. Phew lucky escape :D

After awhile it abated (oooooo big word of the day) and today’s number is 5, hehe we got zooming again and didn’t stop till we were outside Stevie’s house. It was unusual to say the least because the amount of cars outside his house, it was like a local car park. I think Stevie was trying to get started his own car park business but were having none of it hehe.

His neighbours were like ooooo luck at this bunch of hooligans think there cooler in there hairdressers cars!! And that awesome Z3 wow he’s lucky :D

We then exchanged the bonding rituals in the group and had a little giggle while the pressies and the drugs were handed over for cash!! Hmmm did I say drugs well hmm maybe all facts aren’t true in this write up but hey it makes gooood reading :D
John got his shocks, Ash dished out everything that he didn’t want for his supped up momo and they opened up to give us the heroine in the diamond glaze bottles!! Stevie told us how his car was attacked by eggs over the week and had a few probs with the egg shells!!! Man o man if I ever caught them, but while we were there you would never guessed it someone through a fried which stuck to the side of his car!!!! It was funny and even Stevie who was about to nuke the feckers who did the egging broke into a laugh. Everyone was happy, and enthusiastic about the coming weekend so we decide to get back on the road because we hadn’t checked in yet!!
We were told we would have to sleep in the shed if we didn’t get there!! wow that’s pressure. We set off for the B&B.

I thought Spiddal was a 5 minute drive down the road but wow it turned out to be nearly a drive back to Dublin!!! And then it became a mystical town because sometimes when we left our abode it was shorter to the meeting point. Then other times it felt like we were driving for days to get to the meeting point. The magical town of Spiddal that moves!! wow I'm sure that’s not on the tourist maps!!!

After leaving our good buddies Stevie and Frank we arrived in Spiddal and got checked in. We met the owner Siobhan who was the perfect hostess.
She was a big fan of Gone with the Wind with a tattoo or Rett Butler on her arm and she kept referring to Ashley with a southern accent.
Ashley was not amused but it was a good recitment of Gone with the wind. Ashle, I love you Ashle hehe. We giggled awhile, myself and Ollie paired together, ash and Feargal and John got the pink room!!!!! He asked specifically for this!!! We couldn’t believe it but john was saying he was getting confused of late!!.

We through our bags down and got straight back out to the moving town of Spiddal where we organised to get food. Chinese or Supermacs. It was an easy choice for me cause I heard that they use dogs and pigs with swine flu in Supermacs. Unfortunately it didn’t work and we went to Supermacs. It actually wasn't that bad!!!!! Wow I can’t believe I spent all that money on thearpy to say that hehe.
Myself and Ash started to tuck in when Ashley spotted to lovely ladies eating there snack box!!! Could this be another bow chicka wow wow weekend?
John!!!! As Ashley took in the views, all of a sudden he spotted something that nearly turned him off his own grub. One of the women full of oily chicken dove in and snogged the other women!! It would turn a man to tears seeing this and was worse than any horror movie!!! Ash couldn’t believe it so he asked me to verify for him. I looked over and she did it again!! Omg what the hell and then we noticed they were engaged!!!
Ah the good old town of Spiddal, "First baby came out sideways, she didn’t scream or nothin!!!!!"

Well we soon got our nibbles finished and ended up in the the local pub An Tobar, nice place with a nice fire mmmmm It warmed the soul and then we got down to business of discussing cars and all the bits that go with it. Ollie, PJ, Dave, Stephanie, Me, Ashley, John Cheatley, Ivan, JD, Ash, Feargal and Cloggy were the group of hooligans with their big engines. We were the rowdiest bunch ever but we had lots of giggles and even managed a smile or two about the state of the economy.
Ah the friendliest bunch ever, cannnn you feel the loveeeeeeeee tonight!!!.

We left around 1ish to get back so we could be fresh for the excitement of the twists and turns of the drive around Galway. We were meeting a new club that actually organised it which are called the retro bates. We would find out more about this club over the coming day hmmm maybe we would rob there day hehe :D

We got back to the B&B Tuarbeag, and said good night, myself and Ollie chatted for a little while before we could no longer hide the exhaustion.
As I lay my head down, I could not help but wonder how the drive would go in the new Z3 Mx5 but I could not wait to spend a day with the coolest mx5 owner’s enthusiast dude and dudette hmmm don’t say the word (club) group.

Day 2 to follow!!! Keep on reading to find out morrrrrrrrrrrreee...

Looking forward to the movie already.....who'll play the smooching women in supermacs?? Can I suggest Demi and Kylie???
Do supermacs have a slogan?? If it was Mc Donalds, their one being "There's a difference at Mc Donalds" would have been hilarious
