Roll bars on E-bay

Postby CashelMX5 » Thu, 04 Jun 2009 11:39 +0000

Had a look for roll bars on e-bay at the weekend and came across a 'Buy-now' from 2fast2cool2.com for £99. They looked good so I took the plunge and bought. Parcel arrived by courier this morning 8a.m. and given that Monday was a Bank-holiday that's a quick delivery from England. Must say they look and feel the business - a lot heavier than I'd expected and the seller sent the installation instructions via e-mail and that also arrived this morning.
However, I'm not confident enough to tackle the job myself so any help offered would be appreciated. Any offers or tech day coming up?

Sorry lad's, should have said Style bars. Never-the-less they are a heavy piece of work and it would take two to fit, for fear of some body damage, and at the price seem very good value compared to mx5 parts.

Nice one Tom... I could give you a hand, probably be next weekend though if you're not in a mad hurry. Should be straight forward enough as Ash says.

Thanks for the offer John, just got in home from Ocean race in Galway and forgot to take my mobile so I've just seen you message. Saturday next is the 13th. and I was contemplating taking in the Wicklow run. I'll give you a call to discuss.

Did you get the paint job done and, if so, how did it turn out?

Regards,
Tom.

Bring them to the Wicklow run with ya!! Arrive an hour early and surely it could be done in tha car-park @ Red Cow?? Still not sure if my car will be on the road by next Saturday  but hope to go in non-mx5 mode as an alternative :alien:

Anyone in a position to offer assistance to Tom with the installation??

Thanks for the suggestion John. I've also had offers of help from The Stig and Acquarian 5 to whom I'm also grateful. This kind of community spirit is what's so good about this forum.
I'll be puting insurance on the car this coming week and if I don't get the bars on before Saturday I could make it to the Red Cow in plenty of time to get the job done, before the Wicklow run. I'll be in touch during the week.
