Hi Shena et all,

Got the bars on the e-bay site you mentioned (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAZDA-MX5-EUNOS-9 ... 1|294%3A50) and they were with me, by courier, within four days of buying them. Ollie happened to be making a trip near Cashel and offered to help fit them. In truth he did all the work and they took a bit longer than the suggested 10 minutes, however, that said, it would be easier second time around. The bars are heavier than the normal stlye bars and because of the way they are attached to the body it givess the car a lot more rigity in the centre. What a
adds to the installation time is the fact that the seat-belts have to come off but, as Ollie demonstrated, it doesn't that long - when you know how. I would highly reccommend these bars and I think Ollie would endorse that belief. If you want a look at the bars Ollie took a close-up photo of them on the day of the Wicklow trip and he posted them on the forum. You will recognise them by the grey skulled guy sitting, totally oblivious to the photo been taken, in the drivers seat.
Final word - go for them they are well worth it and they are not OTT price-wise. Really happy with them!

I agree with Tom 110% Lovely piece of kit. Very well made and when fitted are lovely.
Set aside about an hour or 2 to fit them at your leisure as they can be tricky, but worth it.

hi
Welcome aboard from a fellow girlie although, I must admit, I said to hell with it and just cut all the hair off .....only messin it was short before i got my 5. I am also in Clare...just outside Ennis on Lahinch Road. The guys on here are such a great bunch and so helpful I can vouch for that they practically put my baby together between advice and hand on hard work.

Hi Hilly,

Great to hear from you, I must have driven past your house on Saturday on way to Liscannor! Half my relatives are in Ennis so maybe I'll send you a message next time I'm out that way.

So far everyone has been so so welcoming with advice and plain 'ole banter, looking forward to meeting up with them someday.

Haven't the courage to cut the hair yet, goes with the car!!! lol...think I'll have to get the windblocker asap!

See you soon
Ann :D

Hi Ann,

Good to see you got the bars. If they told you four days, it won't be their fault if it isn't. Mine was ordered on a Sunday and was with me at 8a.m. on Wednesday by courier. They seem to be a first class outfit!
As Ollie said, they will take a bit longer to fit but really well worth it. If your going to the Terenure show on Sunday, I'm sure there would be enough expertise there to help fit it. :alien:

My car came with the factory windblocker and only today I managed to get it back on. Not that I need it much - no hair in my eyes - but it should help with keeping the wind off the back of the neck. Did your car come with one?

Tom.

Hi Tom,
I only have the small 4" high wind blocker which isn't enough for my big head so I will have to buy another, I know you can get one on ebay for £55 stg plus £18 delivery, not too bad but have to take everything one step at a time or I'll be broke considering I only have it a week!

What show on Sunday is that? I'm sure to have the roll bar by then and would consider going if not hungover after Sat!! lol.

Cheers

Hi Ann,

It's the annual Terenure (Dublin) Classic and Vintage Show run by the Jaguar Club of Ireland. It is one of the big annual Classic shows and the proceeds go to charity. This year it's Cheeverstown House and entry on the day is €15.00. For the past few years MX5 Club Ireland has been attending and it is given it's own area to display the cars. There is a seperate thread on the site and at the last count there was approx. 14 club members committed to attend. I'v never been to it but, having re-joined the club after a few years out, I thought I'd make the effort this year.

The 4" blocker that you mentioned is the factory blocker ie. the one that comes with the car and with my short haircut it suits well enough to keep the draught off the back of my neck.

If your not too hung-over, Sunday would be a good chance to put faces on names on this site. Worth a thought?

Hi all,

Received my new style bars today. I bought them on ebay (Aquarian5 sent me the link, cheers!) on Monday afternoon for £105 stg including delivery. The MX 5 catalogue charges €150 stg ex. delivery. They were shipped on Tuesday and arrived at work today, whoohooo! The company I dealt with couldn't have been more helpful and will be getting mesh grilles in for the MX5 soon also. I don't know what the rules are for giving out company information on the forum are but if it's okay I'll put the link and tel no. on if someone can let me know I can do this. I even discussed group discount, delivery etc. which he said he was interested in. If in the meantime anyone wants his details send me a message and I'll them on.

Fingers crossed I can get them installed real soon!!!! 8)

Ann
PS can anyone tell me how to move this topic to interiors? dont' wanna be getting into trouble as a newbie!
