Was with this man today and collected a caliper. Would recommend him to the group as being straight, up front, no messing around and WILL  negotiate prices,(unlike some others) so give him a call if you are looking for parts.

Rob, if you're left with the back end of that car after stripping out, assuming it's intact, I may be interested. Would like to convert the back end of a mk 1 into a trailer, just for occasional and show use. Will depend totally on how reasonable the price is.
Won't be needing calipers or drive shaft, petrol tank, soft top, seats etc. just from the door receiver back to the number plate, including boot lid, lights and bumper.Wiring loom would be nice but not essential.

Or John, you could use the back of it to make the car a 4 seater, hitch on the back of the other car like a rickshaw

Meself and Ollie were joking at the Terenure show that it would be real cool to take the back end of a 5 , turn it into a trailer and build in a mobile bbq type arrangement for next years show.
Not that that is gonna happen, but ever since seeing a picture of a mk2 with one of them trailers I've had a hankerin' to give it a try.
Sorry, won't have it done by Lough Key trip

If I can find that pic I'll post it up here 8)
