Ivan - do you want to head from your workplace ? - I can meet whatever time suits.

Menu looks good - you can put my name down if theres a gang going.

Well done Tom on that. At this stage I've written off the Royal Hotel in Boyle because of their slow response. Earlier on today I was in touch with Cryans Hotel in Carrick. They can do a set menu for €35 per head or there is the choice of a la carte. I am expecting menu details in the next day or two. Being in Carrick would mean a longer journey and expense in terms of taxi fares though.
Cryans have provisionally booked a party of 20 for an 8:30 sitting on the Saturday night but I can cancel this very easily if we decide to go with the moving stairs.
TBH the moving stairs does sound good, and IS nearer to the campsite.
No harm in asking them for a few free bottles of house wine if they're likely to have 25-30 people dining

I will post the Cryan Hotel menu as soon as I get it and we can compare and contrast 8)

John

PS mind you, the moving stairs is beating them on price, i notice, so at this stage they would be my choice

Thanks Tom and John,
Regardless of location/venue -
I'd like to see a set dinner price for bringing 20 or 25 people to their premises in a recession? I suggest they give us a deal like this -
2 course set menu, ( choice of starter & main or main & desert) and tea and coffee FOC - should be able to do this for €25 a head, if the can't, theres sommit wrong :|
Let them do a bit of work for our bizz

BBQ Fri night. :P
I would have thought that the idea of the Saturday night is to mark the occasion of the 20th anniversary and the success of the group to date.
Saturday is going to be a long day on the road and it might be the only chance we'll have over the weekend to get some decent food.
The dinner is optional btw.
PJ, I'll have a 9 yr old, a 12yr old and possibly my 15 yr old (the wifes age is unknown) so I'd be expecting somewhere to cater for them as well, .
Tom, can you double check that the restaurant will have no problem with under-age persons dining and remaining afterwards??

John

PS
Should we start a list of those interested in the dinner on Saturday night??
