Radiator bleed screw.HELP!!

Anyone here know of a yoke that will take a bleed screw out of a house radiator when the usual hardware ones wont grip it??

that the four sided affair? An adjustable spanner should grab it if it hasn't been vice gripped yet..

ill try that but its very small, about 4-5 mm and set well in so not much room. Standby!!!

nah, its flush with outside and just enouight room for the key. Key is just mild steel so swells out. I may try a good plumber.

Had a similar problem years ago when the bleed nut seized. A plumber just drilled a small hole in the rad , took a self-tapper screw and wrapped a bit of plumbers tape on it and inserted in the hole and tightened..job done!. I've been using that screw now for a number of years, never leaked!. That said, my system is not a high pressure one.HTH'S

Thanks John, may have to try that. One subject i never really bothered with(plumbing) but 2 of the upstairs rads need bleeding every week. Its not a hp system, just the usual. Problems with it since new because the ex wanted a back boiler fitted when the house was being built against the plumbers recomendations and i met him recently and he said to disconnect it which i did and the house is far warmer now in a shorter time but the pump was set too high i think and was aerating causing the air in the rads. I have turned it down to 1 and bled all the rads bar this one to see will it improve. There are no leaks that i can see.
I think there are special yokeys to remove wrung bleed screwes but if not i may try your trick.
