Mk1 1.8 induction kit

I bought an induction kit for my 5 but it turns out it doesnt fit my 1.6, the thermostat is in the way i think.
Its a cone filter and a polished aluminium intake pipe replacing the black plastic pipe.
I paid €75 ish for it and just want to break even
