Style Bars

Postby Ciaran » Mon, 12 Apr 2010 3:54 +0000

Hi all,

I bought a pair of chrome style bars from e-bay (2fast2cool). They're really good, definitely the best I've seen. The downside is you've to be pretty competent at this stuff to be able to install them and I unfortunately am not, even with the instructions included. They cost me €105 so the closest offer to that can have them.

Ciaran

before you give them up you should come to one of the runs/tech days and see if one of the guys/girls will give you a hand installing them.

I'm no mechanic, but with a but of guidance, managed to install mine almost on my own. There are a rake of bodies here who would love to help out.

Hi Ciaran,

I have the same bars from the same source and, like you, I hadn't a clue about fixing them so had them fitted by Stig. However, when I went to fit the hard-top for the winter there was a problem with the height and the top wouldn't fit. I had to have 1/2 inch cut off by a s/steel specialist fitter, only charged me €20, and prolem solved. The bars have been removed and fitted three times since and I would be very confident about fitting them now.

They're not the easiest to fit and there may bit a bit of surgery needed on the plastic seatbelt surround.

Where are you? I'm in Cashel, Co. Tipp and if you want to give me a shout we could fit them. BTW, I have to agree, they are really good and solid when fitted and will really tighten up the middle of the car.

Hi guys,

Thanks a million, really appreciate the advice and offer of help. Someone actually just took them on e-bay so no longer an issue in my life! Definitely looking forward to the next tech day though- It'd be nice to be able to play round with the car without actually setting it on fire
