I know we decided that the 20th anniversary is next year! but the mail to motorsport ireland had already been sent. The following is the reply would anyone be interested in doing something like this anyway?
"Stephen
Your email to Motorsport Ireland has been forwarded to
me for attention.
We have requests every year from clubs like your own
for demo slot at the Park & we try to accommodate
wherever possible. However, there is always a demand
for more slot than we can reasonably fit into a packed
weekend of racing.
We have had the boys from the Kit Car Club of Ireland
along for the last couple of years & they have also
given us great assistance with some of the
organisational tasks associated with the event. Our
difficulty is that we always have a need for a
dedicated group or groups to undertake a specific task
to lighten the workload on our own helpers.
Can you let me have an indication of the number of
cars & people you have in mind by return email. What
we have done in the past is to allocate a specific
area where the cars can be placed, the owners can show
them off to the public & enjoy a picnic etc. Then
assembly for a display lap & back to base.
I will consider your request & discuss with the
committee when I have the info back from you. On a
personal note, I would be pleased to fit you guys in & celebrate your 20th as we have a Mazda MX5 (2000, 1. which we have kept in Ireland for the last couple of years - its about to be sold! as we are now permanently back in the UK.
With kind regards
Eamonn Ledwidge"
