The block is blueprinted and then bored oversized to fit a proprietary steel sleeve which we have custom made just for MRM.

If the block was blueprinted, it would be to an accurate standand spec..........not overbored.

A proprietary steel sleeve is as........not custom made........

sorry but i spent too long workin in engine shops.............

If Mazda wanted to sleeve the engine they would have done so...........with wet liners.......

Would a stroker kit would be a better option to increase displacement?

2 litre here

2.1 litre here

would be with a turbo Steve as its not reliant on revs.

Remember the old formula from James Watt and its still the same one used today.

Horsepower = (torque x revs) divided by 5250

5250 is the crossover point where torque and power curves intersect.

Ah ok, long stroker etc
Wet liners, why are they better?

5250, yep, heres a power run (from last year I think) which shows it :

rough figures : (178 x 6600) divided by 5250 = 223(ish)
