spotted a lad in a silver nb on the clontarf road on saturday lunchtime, got a big wave from the driver as i passed

Is this common amongst MX5 owners? I have given a wave to a few here in Cork as I pass but never am sure what the reaction was. As a biker in a previous life we always waved at each other, (modern bikers seem to want to be more cool and do it with their foot!) so I like to think we would acknowledge each other as we pass by.
