What did you do to your MX5 today ?

Postby Steve » Mon, 12 May 2008 11:20 +0000

post anything. Did you wash it today or did you install a new turbo?

I checked the diff oil.. yes.. its leaking.. through one of the axle seals.. have a new seal to go in.. must get to it this week.

Also found ANOTHER vacuum leak.. so plugged that.. more power + less hunting at idle.. nice.

I drove mine to work. Then I parked it outside work. :(

On a brighter note I got the exhaust tightened up at the weekend. Geezer that replaced my clutch made a tit of putting the exhaust back on. My neighbour will be happy.

Also made a start on cleaning up my BBS wheels. It looks like one of those slow progress jobs that require tons of patience. Might never happen

Just back from the extended test drive with the new shocks, and i gotta say they are bloody brilliant.
Called in to Daves on the way home and he reckoned that the anti roll bar bushes were shagged front and back, luckily his garage is like mx5parts and he had new mazda ones for the front and new polys for the rear. so i fitted them with daves guiding eye (and it was just an eye as he managed to keep his daz white t shirt whiter than white!!!)
Seriously though thanks for all your help Dave.
Anyway bloody loads done today and the car feels 100 times better for it.
really pushes on through the corners.
Well happy and got a tan!!!

Now you need to polish it then wax it to keep a good finish.

Used the red t-cut to give the colour a boost. Can you recommend the next move, products etc., :?:

I use merguires deep crsytal polish and wax but the last few times i waxed i have used poorboys nattys limited edition red wax (expensive but will last a long time - the tub and the shine!!!) doubt you will be able to get the red stuff now but blue or white should be just fine (its colour has nothing to do with the colour of your car)

Tis a very good wax so it is.
