Clutch

Postby rockdrummer4 » Fri, 12 Apr 2013 8:11 +0000

My clutch is on the way out...

Past two days when pressing the pedal its closer and closer to the floor before engaging. Now its difficult to get into 1st gear, when running all other gears appear fine..

Any ideas what part this is (im a novice !), how much?

1998 MK1 1.6 manual

Maybe a bit vague, need to know anything else let me know :)

Thanks

We are in Swords and I can show you what to do .In the meantime do not let the fluid bottle empty. Are u sure its a leak or could it be the clutch itself. I can check it tomorrow for you.Robert 086 8226506.

Hey Rob, yes it is the Colin...

Got it fixed, was the clutch slave cylinder as charged_rs rightly said !!
Cost me €140 - I know a complete rip off :(, but at least Its back to normal... a whole weekend without a car was weird..

Thanks for all the help lads.
