We'll leave it to 7.30 then. Ok. Everyone sound off on 7.30 in Mahon as above.

Hi Lads, just back from a rather dull West Cork. Tomorrow looks crap weather wise, mind you the rest of the week looks even worse. I'm willing to keep my fingers crossed and if it is wet tomorrow evening that's it and ye can see what it is like at the weekend. I'm in London over the weekend so I'm out but don't let that stop anyone doing a run. My mobile is 087 6788546 for anyone wanting to contact me tomorrow to see if tomorrow evening is a runner. The brain is programmed for a run, even for an hour or so, so lets see how the day works out and take it from there? In my head at the moment assuming we do get out is to take the back roads to Midleton and on to Tallow and either back through Castlelyons or go on to Lismore and on to Fermoy and back. That said I am always open to any other route.

Ok then lads,

there's probably little point in meeting tonight then. I've texted/emailed paulc and [L'e$kro] to that effect. They both agree it's pointless to meet. It's bucketing down as I type this so perhaps it's a poor night for RWD open top motoring... :-(

So...event run is canceled.

We'll try for next week. Can you guys all suggest two nights each next week which suit. Hopefully that way between the five of us we can come up with one night.

1. Turismo2142: Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th May.

1. Turismo2142: Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th May.
2. Rhys - Tuesday 14th May.
3.

I might even chance driving without tax.

PS. is it true you get a month ''grace'' or is that an unwritten rule?

2. Rhys - Tuesday 14th May.
3. paulc - Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th May. (Any night at the moment.)

Not certain if there is anything written about 'grace' being given to tax out of date, depends more on who you meet on the day and how good a story you can spin I'd say.

It's an offence to drive without a current tax disc. 1 year, 1 month, 1 day even. All depends on plod really.

I've driven mine to Wexford and back twice with a December 12 disc. Can't tax it till I get me log book and that's my story Mr. Garda man...but I could still be prosecuted.

Retired Cork District Court Judge McGruirc used to always say "road tax is like petrol, you can't drive your car without it".

So, it depends on mr. Plod I'm afraid. Reality is, Garda cabbage head isn't going to be too bothered with the 35 year old in the 4 year old mondeo diesel. Young Rhys in his heavily modified car on the other hand???

Shame, but prejudices abound in the Gardaí.
